Anne-Lore Zimmermann danced competitively International Style Standard and Latin for 22 years while studying for her school and university education as a school teacher for German and History. She won the German Youth Championship, two German Latin titles and several second place rankings in the Standard and 10 Dance discipline. She consistently placed in World and European Championship finals in all 3 styles. After a break from dancing, completing her exams as a school teacher and after changing partners, she returned to the dance professionally and represented Germany in the Final of the European 10-Dance Championship.
Anne-Lore has always been interested in movement, sports and different forms of dance. In her search for a better way to teach dancers to move gracefully, prevent injuries and enhance body awareness, she discovered and studied the Feldenkrais Method®. She turned it into a great tool to help dancers improve their dance of all categories and all styles. She graduated in 2001 from her Professional Teachers Feldenkrais Trainings Program, where she also met Yoni. Ever since both have been working together, creating and developing the dance smart program.
Yoni Zaluski is a movement education specialist. He has been working with athletes, dancers, musicians and others who seek to improve their performance and skills. Yoni has been an active athlete and was a professional engineer. Over the years he became fascinated by the process of learning new motor skills and improving existing ones. He has discovered that the key for improvement is to increase self-awareness. He went on to pursue a new career and became a certified Feldenkrais® practitioner. Combining the two worlds – sport techniques and Feldenkrais® based movement education – resulted in the creation of the Whole Body Golf program for golfers of all levels and ages. During this period of time Yoni also became a certified golf instructor.
Bringing their mutual interest in teaching sports by increased awareness, Anne-Lore and Yoni have joined forces in creating the dance smart program to improve dance skills and performance. The program is based on the same philosophy of supporting sport technique by movement education.
Yoni maintains a practice in Denver, Colorado, where he works with golfers and disabled golfers, people with chronic pain, stroke or other head injuries, musicians and dancers. Yoni travels frequently to Europe and teaches dance couples and individuals together with Anne-Lore.
